About Isaac
I am a gap year student who completed his A-Level studies this summer, alongside being a tutor for pupils from my school. Although this may seem an unorthodox teaching dynamic, it helped me discover a lot about how to get the best out of people.
Currently, I am waiting for the results of an application to Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge to study Economics, in which my Mathematical abilities proved better than over 90% of other applicants, according to the entrance test I did in October.

I have a focus on teaching the fundamentals of answering exam questions: the process by which many pupils can improve by multiple grades easily. Each lesson (either 1 or 2 hours) is structured around using this method to take a student from answering the most basic to the most complex of questions, simply by adding another step in exams' intricate answering processes.
Teaching the initial mathematical skills themselves varies much more from pupil to pupil, depending on learning style. Some pupils prefer a process to learning, some pupils find it easier to have new techniques for different processes. Whatever it may be, I have taught that method before.
In the last exam period (Summer 2022) I had 6 total pupils (2 GCSE and 4 A-Level). The 2 GCSE pupils went from grades 3 and 4 in February to both achieving 8s come the summer. The 4 A-level students varied from E-C in January, all improved by at least 2 grades, and all achieved A or A* in their final exams.
I can work with any pupil within York looking to take GCSE Maths or Further Maths, and A-Level Maths. As I haven't the knowledge of all A-Level Maths electives and exam boards, I cannot promise that I'll be able to tutor this.
