For primary school students, I am able to provide a basic grasp of the French language, including common questions, the colours, animals and being able to ask simple questions. I can do this up to the level that the school requires, or beyond this if you so wish.
For secondary school and GCSE students, I can assist in vocabulary, grammar and formulating sentences. I am also able to help the student to prepare for any exams, whether this be reading, listening, writing or oral. I am able to help students to practice for their oral examinations.
I achieved an A* in my French GCSE and have since continued my studies independently. I am able to offer tuition in French to primary school students and secondary school students up to GCSE level.
I am also able to offer tuition in other subjects so please view my profile or send me a message if you have an queries.
I am a South London based tutor who is outgoing and friendly and willing to help with any individual needs that the student may have as well as helping them generally with their subjects.
What I teach:
I am able to help primary school students in all areas and to help them work towards their 11 or 13+ entrance exams into secondary school if so required.
I can teach Year 7-11 English Literature and Language, Mathematics, Drama, French and Religious Studies.
I can tutor sixth form students in Religious Studies, English and Government and Politics.
(Please note that if you have any other requirements, feel free to ask me if I am able to help. This is a general list but I do have some skills in other areas if required.)
I am able to tailor each class to the student’s individual needs, so that I am helping them achieve exactly what they need to obtain higher grades.
I am particularly skilled at essay writing, so will ensure that every student is writing essays to a very high standard.
I am able to adapt to each individual’s learning requirements; for example, some students are visual learners and will benefit from use of a mindmap, whereas others learn through consistently doing practice questions, and others still learn from extensive verbal discussion of a topic. I am able to accommodate all of these needs.
I have experience of students with dyslexia and dyspraxia and am able to effectively help them in ways that may not be required for other students. This is essential, because having a learning difficulty means that you may have slightly different needs, and these being met will ensure that a student will go above and beyond.
I studied at James Allen’s Girls’ School in Dulwich from 2011-2018. At GCSE, I achieved 8A*s, 1A and 1B, including an A* in English Literature and Language, Mathematics and the three sciences. At A Level, I achieved 2A*s in Government & Politics and Religious Studies, and a D3 in English Literature Pre-U, which is equivalent to an A grade. A Pre-U is an exam which generally follows the form of an A Level but also has a 3,000 word independent study essay.
In September 2021, I will be reading Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion at the University of Cambridge.
During my GCSEs, I got an A* in French but am continuing to study French independently with the hope of becoming fluent before I start university.
