About Zakariah
My background is in health sciences, with 4 years experience in research. I have gained an understanding of the multi-disciplinary approaches to contemporary global health issues. I specialise in medical and biological statistics as well as mathematical modelling of infectious diseases. Being from a French-speaking country, I am fluent in spoken and written French, having spoken the language since I was 5 years old and studying it up to A level.

My teaching method is progressive and stimulating with the aim of inspiring students and increasing their confidence in their abilities. Not only is it important to do well in the subject but to enjoy learning. Thus, my style involves a balance of technical learning from the GCSE syllabus with a wide array of exam practice and an application to the real world. In other words I would provide a contextual aspect to their learning. For example, I would use mathematical concepts from my own personal education to help student appreciate the importance in algebraic expressions. For French, 'Race and Society' is an important topic. However, the learning is confined to contemporary times. My teaching would explore how these problems can be traced to the colonial era and what implications they have on the Francophone world today. This is a key part of my teaching because it exposes students to the various vernacular and tenses adopted in local contexts. I do this because it is important to place value to their learning - why are they learning about this? Not only does this encourage students to challenge themselves and maximise their potential, but also inspire students to pursue a career in these domains, i.e.: become the next mathematicians, physicians, economists, politician, sociologist, linguists or translators.
