About Charlie
Hi! I’m Charlie, a Biomedical Sciences student at the University of Liverpool with a strong academic background in science and maths.
I’m a friendly, patient and supportive tutor who understands that Maths can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you're preparing for GCSE exams. My aim is to make difficult topics feel much simpler by breaking them down into clear, manageable steps and adapting my explanations to the way each student learns best.
I have tutoring experience and particularly enjoy helping students build their confidence, rather than simply memorising methods. I use practice questions, worked examples and exam-style questions to make sure students can apply what they have learned independently.
I understand how important exam technique can be at GCSE, so I also help students recognise what questions are asking, structure their working clearly and identify where marks are available.
Most importantly, I want my lessons to be a comfortable environment where students feel able to ask questions, make mistakes and improve without feeling judged.

My GCSE Maths lessons are designed to help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding and improve their exam performance in a supportive and relaxed environment.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual student and the areas they find most challenging. I can help with both Foundation and Higher GCSE Maths, covering topics such as algebra, fractions, percentages, ratios, geometry, probability, statistics and problem-solving.
Lessons typically combine clear, step-by-step explanations with worked examples and plenty of practice questions. I also focus heavily on exam technique, helping students understand how to approach unfamiliar questions, show their working clearly and recognise the methods needed to gain marks.
I adapt my teaching style to suit each student, so there is never any pressure to understand something immediately. If a topic isn't clicking, I'll explain it in a different way and work through it until the student feels confident tackling questions independently.
I can also provide targeted revision sessions, past-paper practice and support with specific topics ahead of tests and GCSE exams.
