About Kaitlyn
I’m a newly qualified teacher who has grown up in Somerset, half way between the Jurassic coast and Bristol. I found my own love for Geography when a new Geography teacher started at my school and made the subject enjoyable and relatable.
I think it’s important that you can relate to the subject in order to understand it more, and enjoy the learning.
Geography can encompass so much of our every day lives and I find it enjoyable making that link with my students.

I like to start my lessons recapping previous material, brining in the practise of retrieval to embed what we’ve gone over and see what areas need a little more work. I then like to approach content with some teacher delivery moving onto a student centered approach where the student can become more involved in their own learning, in a way that works best for them. To round up the lesson, I like to use a mixture of different plenary activities, to check learning and guide planning for the next lesson. I want to make the learning enjoyable with the goal of seeing progression.
