About Stefan
Extensive and ongoing studies in modern and medieval literature and all areas of linguistics with strong foundation in basic elements as grammar, phonetics, etc. enable me to support students on all levels of their journey from understanding German for the first time to finishing a higher degree.

Unlike a synthetic approach of learning phrases, I advocate a systematic understanding of the language, i.e. include historic and comparative elements, in order to lay a foundation of familiarity, which facilitates the acceleration of comprehension and application in advanced stages. The other two basic elements which are particularly important for English speakers are grammar and pronunciation. So as much as I can train towards a degree, my emphasis lies on a holistic view of German as a modern language within a family of languages.
