About Lawalson
Hi, I'm your future tutor! I'm not just someone who likes science; I have a BSc in Anatomy and I'm currently advancing my knowledge in a Master's programme focused on Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation. This deep dive into human biology—plus my experience as an Assistant Lecturer—means I don't just know the answers; I know how to teach complex university-level material so it clicks for you. More importantly, I'm still a student myself. I'm young, I understand the pressure, and I know exactly what it's like to juggle tough courses. That means I can easily relate to your stress, your questions, and your study methods. My purpose in tutoring is simple: I want to teach because I believe biology should be exciting, not intimidating. I get genuine satisfaction from seeing that moment when a tough concept finally makes sense for a student. My goal is to equip you with the mastery and confidence to excel not just in your next test, but in your entire science journey.

My Teaching Philosophy: Master the "Why" My sessions aren't about rote memorisation; they're about mastering the material. I use a Concept-First methodology: we start by linking tough biology topics (like cellular signalling or kidney function) to real-world context, so you immediately understand why you need to learn it. This makes the material engaging and relevant. To ensure deep learning, we use Active Recall and Spaced Repetition—these are proven study techniques that turn short-term facts into long-term knowledge, so you're actually prepared for finals, not just the next quiz. A standard lesson is 60 minutes. This duration is perfect for covering new ground and working through tough problems without causing mental burnout. My Background and Experience I bring a strong academic foundation: I have a BSc in Anatomy and am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation. This means I have a deep, specialised understanding of human physiology and health. Plus, my one year as an Assistant Lecturer gives me the experience to teach university-level material clearly and effectively. Who I Teach & Why It Works I specialise in tutoring high school students taking demanding courses like AP/IB Biology, and undergraduates in subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, and introductory Bio. As a young person currently navigating higher education, I can easily relate to the stress of my students. This rapport creates a relaxed, engaging environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and are motivated to succeed.
