About Layla
I’m Layla Wang, a violinist and educator currently pursuing the Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music in London. I was previously awarded a full scholarship to the Sibelius Academy and have won multiple international competitions, including the Grand Prize in the 2023 Global Talent Competition (Strings Division). Since the age of 15, I have focused on violin pedagogy and have continued to develop and publish practice materials. With extensive performance experience, I have given over 200 concerts across China and the UK, collaborating with numerous orchestras and renowned musicians such as Lang Lang and Zhang Guoyong. I have also served as concertmaster for various chamber ensembles. Teaching is my passion because it allows me to accompany students on their musical journey and witness their growth—from their first notes to confident performances on stage. I specialise in explaining complex techniques in a clear and accessible way, placing equal emphasis on technical training, musical expression, and stage presence. My teaching style is warm and patient, yet guided by high standards, helping students grow with confidence and solid foundations.
