About Theo
I have always been fascinated by chemistry and have a passion for teaching others. I am a recent Chemistry graduate from the University of York (BSc Biological and Medicinal Chemistry, 2:1), with a final-year research project on antiviral compounds. I understand how stressful A-level exams can feel, having been through them myself not long ago, and I'm committed to helping students build genuine confidence rather than just getting through the syllabus.

I have experience with in-person one-to-one tutoring and group mentorship. My lessons run 45 minutes to an hour and are aimed at Sixth Form students in Years 12 and 13, whether they're catching up after falling behind or aiming to reach the top-mark bracket. My lessons are tailored to each A-level student's individual needs, focusing on building robust exam technique and a foundational understanding rather than just memorising facts, as I believe this is the most effective way to achieve long-term success and confidence in the subject. I drill exam technique until it becomes second nature, so students walk into the exam room with full confidence. I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps, use plenty of past-paper practice and real-world examples to make chemistry click, and adapt my pace to what works best for each learner, with regular check-ins on progress and areas to revisit.
