About Charlotte
I am a graduate of English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford currently based in Cardiff.
I have always had a passion for language and believe in tutoring as a way to foster that enthusiasm or literature and learning in students. Through my lessons I aim to teach students skills that they can apply beyond their exams.
I am also currently studying for my Masters in Vocal Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and so am able to offer insight into approaching English and Humanities studies with a creative, as well as academic approach.
My areas of special interest at University were:
- Actress-singers in Restoration Theatre
- Material text culture and its function in jewellery from 1400-1800
- Music performance in literature and musical adaptation.

I studied English Language and Literature at The University of Oxford and offer support in English studies and Humanities at all levels, particularly in essay writing and comprehension skills. I am a dynamic tutor who is invested in helping students to find their best learning methods and strategies to apply beyond just their work in English.
I have provided learning support to
fellow students during GCSE and A levels, as well as at university. I always aim to improve analysis skills and encourage an approach informed by history, the arts and language, as well as the student’s own special interests to ensure an engaging experience. I have also provided support in proofreading, essay structuring and grammar.
During my undergraduate I gained experience in the full breadth of literature in English and linguistics. I can offer support in periods and styles from Old English poetry, Chaucer, and Early Modern theatre through to Victorian novels and contemporary works.
I understand that students work best with flexibility for their own learning needs.
