About Helen
A graduate of the University of Lincoln, educated to BA (hons) Fine Art & Illustration, with over ten years postgrad experience as both a fine artist and illustrator.
A multi-disciplinary artist with experience exhibiting internationally, nationally and locally, running an arts group, curating exhibitions and installations, peer to peer networking and workshops.
Illustration commissions for book publishing, editorial publishing, music industry illustration, with a specialism in comics and graphic novels.
Self-publishing comics and zines, prints, greetings cards, and a range of merch for sale to clients.
I also have experience as a carer for a young person with mental health, and am pioneering some new workshops combining birdwatching and creativity as therapeutic activity for people with MH, carers, and for general education and wellbeing.
I am working towards developing Peace Painting workshops in the UK, following a research trip to Norway, and some initial workshops in Lincoln.

I teach in groups of 10-12 participants for workshops, for undergraduates wishing to gain skills in the arts.
The mental health / caring workshops are available to anyone with any ability, and consist of two parts: an hour of birdwatching and observation, and an hour of creativity, making a visual diary and other creative skills.
These take place in a location where there is an area for birdwatching, such as a park, fields, or garden nearby, and with space for creativity for the second part.
Currently they are run at 10, Decimal Place, Burton Road, Lincoln, with nearby John Dawber Gardens at The Lawn.
Peace Painting workshops are longer, usually taking place within a school day, for approximately four hours per session. An introduction to Peace Painting, and discussion of themes, with a creative Peace Painting session, lunch break, then finishing the work, and an hour of reflection and self assessment and feedback on the work.
One to one sessions are also available for one to two hours for those wishing to build a portfolio for Foundation or undergraduate level.

There may be discounts available for the first session depending on level of income.
This website is forcing me to offer my first lesson for free, but I cannot do that, because I am a carer, and I do not work for free, as that causes financial difficulty.
Travel is based on distance.
I have use of space for groups of participants in the city centre.
