Learning requires positive reinforcement and repetition from the elementary to the doctorate level. Thus, lesson plans are typically set up to first introduce a subject through learnable and relatable examples then to provide students with problems and thought experiments that challenge, reinforce, and force critical thinking. Once these examples are completed and understood thoroughly, additional material (short cuts, additional proofs or problems, etc.) are provided to give a complete picture of the topic(s).
This lesson outline is applicable to any age of students; however, students enrolled in core and introductory classes (e.g., College Algebra, Calculus, AP Statistics, etc.) benefit the most from the structure.
