I Will approach the lesson by understanding the students needs, seeing where they struggle and if they have any disabilities that might prevent them from working to their full ability. I will then cater the lessons to that and give them homework. I don't intent to be strict or make them feel dumb because everyone struggles and there's nothing wrong with that.
