About Amira
My faith as a Christian underpins why I teach. I believe in an approach that focuses on the flourishing of the human person in addition to academic excellence.
My values are to:
- See the student as a whole person, before asking 'how can I improve this student's grades?'
- Develop the virtues in all aspects of learning, alongside academic competence
- Cultivate wonder in learning by helping students see the interconnectedness of every subject, and through them, the beauty, order and truth of God’s creation.

• Your techniques and teaching methodology
My teaching methodology is strongly based on using examples and practice to solidify theory learnt. I spend a little bit of time going through the theory at the start of a lesson, but for the remainder we practise by going through examples. I let my pupils make mistakes so that they learn from them and build confidence as their learning progresses.
• Typical length of a lesson
Maximum length of a lesson is 1 hour to aid concentration.
• Your qualifications/experience as a tutor
I am a graduate of Imperial College London in Chemistry. I then went on to study a postgraduate Masters at the University of Oxford in the Department of Education.
• Who the lessons are for (level, age, etc.)
The lessons are for those studying towards GCSEs or A-Levels or similar level qualifications.
