About Beth
-After receiving a first class degree from the University of Cambridge, the ability to share all I have learned across my years of study is very exciting.
-I realise that the subject can often be daunting, so my friendly and patient teaching style is focused on building confidence in GCSE and A-Level students who may feel uncertain of their skills (or just want to deepen their knowledge). I am flexible to the individual student’s needs, and look forward to seeing them flourish.
-After successfully running a small magazine and producing a play, I hope to inspire students: English can be creative as well as academic, and can be made to serve you!

-Running between 1-2 hours (flexible), my lessons focus on prepping GCSE and A-Level students (ages 11-18) for exams while also developing their personal voice.
-I use my own experiences as an English graduate to guide the student to the best results possible, and prime them with the long term skills for a future in the subject should they wish to take it further.
-Even if the student has no interest in continuing their language/ literature studies, my lessons build upon transferable skills that can be applied across the curriculum.
-A typical lesson includes close reading practice (building on analytical techniques), help with historical context, and use of real past paper questions to prepare students for the high pressure environment of the exam hall.
