About Sonia
I'm Sonia, a French native and qualified MFL teacher freshly graduated from the UCL Institute of Education in London. Languages have been at the heart of everything I've done, from three years of intensive literary and linguistic studies in a French classe préparatoire, to teaching French, German and Spanish in British secondary schools. I also speak English at C2 level, German and Spanish, so I can tutor across several languages depending on your needs.
I want to tutor because I genuinely love sharing my passion for languages and seeing students grow in confidence. There's something really rewarding about working one-on-one with someone, taking the time to really understand how they learn and what they need, in a way that isn't always possible in a classroom setting.

My lessons are typically one hour long and tailored entirely to the student in front of me, whether that is a primary school child needing extra support, a sixth former preparing for A level or an adult trying to learn a new language. As a qualified MFL teacher trained at the UCL Institute of Education with experience teaching French, Spanish and German across all age groups, I bring both academic rigour and genuine flexibility to every session. I take time at the start to understand each student's goals, learning style and gaps, and build from there using a communicative, skills-based approach that makes language learning feel accessible and enjoyable rather than overwhelming. Progress is always the priority, but so is confidence, and I find that when students feel genuinely listened to and supported, results follow naturally.
