About Ellie
I’m a recent graduate who knows firsthand how much good teaching can change your path. My own journey wasn’t perfectly smooth; I’ve dealt with impostor syndrome, procrastination and pressure, but I learned how to work through those challenges thanks to excellent teachers and clear study strategies. I want to pass that on to students who might feel the same way or who want to push themselves further. I love Biochemistry and enjoy helping others understand it. Having been through GCSEs, A-levels and university recently, I know what actually helps at each stage and can give support that’s practical and relevant.

For GCSE/A level: The style of the sessions will depend on the needs of the student. I am able to prepare sessions that focus on syllabus topics as a whole for revision refreshers, focus on any particular areas where a student may need more support, or past paper practice (content and technique). I like to prepare small presentations to cover key/tricky concepts, including exam-style questions to promote active learning in students. Happy to help students of all abilities. Each session is typically 1 hour. For Oxbridge/University applications: I can assist students for both general University queries, such as choosing the right course and institution for them, as well as academic support for personal statement writing, extracurricular learning and interview practice. I provide detailed feedback (verbal and written) on personal statements on as many drafts as the student needs, and can give interactive lessons on any University-level topics, building on A level skills to improve confidence going into the admissions process. Each session is typically 1 hour. I have 2 years of experience as a tutor for Oxbridge admissions, helping my students fulfil their potential.
