About Shireen

About Me I am an education professional working at the University of Oxford, with an academic background in Politics and International Relations and a Master’s in Education. My work focuses on developing leadership and learning programmes that help students reach their full academic and personal potential. Why I Teach I teach because I believe in the transformative power of education. My approach is structured, reflective, and student-centred — focused on building critical thinking, academic confidence, and clarity of expression. I aim to help learners not only achieve excellent results but also develop the intellectual independence and curiosity that define true academic growth.

About the lesson

Having experienced both sides of academia — as a high-achieving student and now as an educator — I’ve developed a deeply personal approach to tutoring. For me, effective tutoring isn’t just about delivering content; it’s about understanding how each student learns, what motivates them, and how to help them find confidence in their own abilities. I believe that academic growth happens when students feel genuinely supported and intellectually challenged in equal measure. In our sessions, I focus on creating a space where you can think critically, ask questions freely, and develop independent learning habits that last well beyond our lessons. I draw on my Oxford experience to help students strengthen their reasoning, writing, and communication skills — but always in a way that suits your individual learning style and goals. If you’re looking for a tutor who values patience, clarity, and authentic academic mentorship, I’d be delighted to work with you.
