About Rae
I have been teaching since I was a university student in 2017. I have taught students with compassion, understanding, patience, and humor. I believe school is difficult, especially when you tough it out alone. I believe all students are knowledgeable and capable, especially with the proper support.
I work in mental healthcare as a pre-licensed counselor. I work from an eclectic framework that is grounded in existential psychology, trauma-informed somatic therapy, and narrative therapy. However, my practice borrows techniques from many theories, such as CBT and dialogical therapy, to truly cater therapy to each unique client. I seek to teach and support students with the same empathy towards their unique needs. I work with diverse populations, across socioeconomic statuses, cultures, ages, and involvement in the criminal justice system.
Originally educated in business administration & technology, I oversaw the education for my university's multidisciplinary, student-led venture fund.
I moved into the psychology field following three years in technology development after realizing my passion for creating supportive mental health technology for students—this is an area I continue to be very passionate about.

Although I create specialized lesson plans based on the classes you are taking, the subject matter you need support in, and your academic goals, this is what you can expect when working with me:
- Reading and analyzing case studies
- Completing case conceptualizations, including treatment plans, using case vignettes
- Short answer reflections on learned concepts

As a tutor, I combine previous teaching experience as the Managing Director and Education Advisor of my undergraduate university's student-led venture fund with my current experience as a graduate level pre-licensed counselor working with individuals, groups, families, couples, children, and court-mandated clients.
My lessons are for students in high school level psychology classes all the way to the graduate level, including students who are prepping for their practicum experience.
