About Raquel
Learning a language is more than memorizing vocabulary: it's about putting yourself in someone else's shoes, learning to think differently. As a language teacher and also a student of several foreign languages, I know how important it is to have support and encouragement on the learning journey, and that's exactly what I always aim to give my students, so they can reach the level they want.

In the first lesson, we begin by chatting in Portuguese or the language in which the student feels most comfortable: we try to understand what they already know of Portuguese or if they are learning it for the first time, why they want to learn this language, which teaching methods will be most effective, and in what areas they will use Portuguese. Then, we create a personalized learning plan, which can naturally be adapted as the lessons progress. I place considerable importance on pronunciation and grammar, as needed, so that the students can talk about topics that interest them and are relevant to understanding Portuguese culture.
