Graduate Pharmacologist and current Physician Associate student offering science/english tuition in Norwich

Methodology

I teach school students to understand concepts in science which help students.
I found that when concepts of science are explained in further detail, students find it much easier to apply their knowledge to questions.
Using practice questions to assess what has been learnt and working on students weak areas is key.

Background

I graduated in BSc Pharmacology in 2015 and have always had a passion to study and teach science.

I started off with teaching siblings during their GCSEs and then students. I found that when concepts of science are explained in further detail, students find it much easier to apply their knowledge to questions.

EDUCATION
Physician Associate Studies MSc, Universiry of East Anglia
I have been training as a Physician Asscoiate in Norwich. I believe I have gained many skills and experiences that will enable me to excel in a patient focused environment. Through my initial training, I have gained the essential understanding of what it is like to work with a multidisciplinary team. A fundamental part of my training included tailored classes and teaching on communicating with different people. Using role-play with professional actors in these classes helped me gain confidence in the way I communicate and relay information in a simple and efficient manner.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Medical Sales Representative (E-detailer), Ashfield Healthcare (Apr 2017 – Aug 2018)
My recent role as a digital pharmaceutical sales representative allowed me to offer flexibility to healthcare providers in a way that engaged them while meeting the increased demand of demonstrating the value of drug products in Diabetes.
I communicated with them over the phone to book appointments and then digitally via Webinars to share scientific data and evidence to clarify the value of the product to both their clinical practice as well as their patients.

B&Q (Jan 2016 – Jan 2017)
Customer Service Assistant -
Job Roles Include: While studying for my masters, I took a weekend job in Norwich. During my time at B&Q, I worked with a positive attitude in order to maintain customer satisfaction. Using my team working skills I was able to help the store achieve budget targets and minimising stock loss. My weekly tasks evolved dealing with customer queries and complaints, processing refunds and exchanges, placing customer orders and participating in achieving store targets.

Currys PC World (Jan 2012 – Dec 2015)
Customer Service Assistant -
Job Roles Include: My part time job role is copiously customer focussed. As part of a small team staffing a customer service desk, I use my skills to resolve customer issues in order to give them the best customer experience and maintain the companies’ reputation. My job role includes;
• Communicating with suppliers and colleagues at delivery, repair and call centres.
• Handling refunds, exchanges and customer complaints.
• Answering customer and manufacturing company phone calls.
• Booking in customer repairs, removing computer viruses and setting up the latest software, which requires knowledge of programmes such as Microsoft office.
• Meeting store targets, stock checks, daily cashing up and safe balancing, weekly banking and budgeting.
• Efficiently organise the administration work for the store.
During my time with the company, I quickly made an impression of being capable of more than what was required as my role of a cashier and was moved to the customer service department. I have also worked in two of the highest performing stores in the region, working well under two different management teams and a different group of colleagues.

QMU Health Sciences Volunteer (2012 - 2014)
Together with a variety of health scientist (Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Dieticians and Nurses) studying at QMU, we volunteered at events held at QMU where we can apply our learned skills. We had visits from school kids and showed them how to record diet diaries, how to use certain equipment along with running laboratory classes for them. During this experience, I learnt to engage with younger people and by working as part of a team we managed to increase their knowledge and give them an insight into enjoyable Health Science. This was a great experience, which allowed me to demonstrate me learnt skills.

Volunteer at Barnardos (2009 - 2011)
Working with vulnerable young children with disabilities/learning difficulties and helping them have a good time by assisting them through different tasks and activities through the day. This included attending weekly training nights where I was taught first aid, along with many other essential skills in order to work with the children.
