About Jonathan
I am a graduate student working on my M.A. in Romance Languages and Literatures with a concentration in Spanish. I have taught full classrooms of up to 15+ students for teaching demonstrations as well as individual private tutor sessions in which both cases students displayed a better understanding of topics within the Spanish language (i.e. how to use the subjunctive to give recommendations).

As a graduate teaching assistant for my MA program I deal with mainly undergraduate students but I also have done private tutoring for people of different ages ranging from high school to adult. My teaching methodology is based on the Communicative Language Teaching or CLT, that focuses on teaching students how to use the target language in real life tasks rather than just memorizing vocabulary lists and/or grammar constructs. This also includes Task Based Instruction or TBI where students complete activities associated with real life tasks (I.E checking into a hotel) and students use the vocabulary and grammar as a means to communicate in these situations.
