About Kate
I tutor 8th grade, high school, college, and working professionals. I can help level you up in Algebra, Computer Science / Programming, and Cybersecurity.
I'm a computer science graduate student at Georgia Tech and I hold a bachelor's degree in computer science from Florida State University. I've been working as a math tutor for 4 years and I have 20 years of experience with software engineering. I've also worked as a teaching assistant for intro and advanced Python courses at a local college.
I hold highly regarded Cybersecurity certifications including the A+, Security+, GFACT, GSEC, GCIH and OSCP+. I have experience tutoring both students and professionals in Cybersecurity.

When I'm tutoring, I start at the beginning, and we'll focus on one concept at a time until you feel confident and ready to move forward. By the end of a lesson, you'll feel more independent and ready to independently continue work on what we discussed.
For in-person lessons we'll work together using a small whiteboard and dry-erase markers that I'll bring with me. I also teach calculator skills so you can quickly check your work if allowed by your teacher. For online tutoring I'll work with you via screenshare and we'll work through and go over the material together. We'll also use documents and worksheets that you can complete using regular scratch paper if you don't have a printer.
I believe in working smarter and you'll see a difference in your grades and methodology as a result of our lessons.
