About Jay
I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Political Science at San Francisco State. Throughout my academic journey, I have been on an accelerated pathway; finishing my Associates' degree at the same time as my high school diploma, and then promptly entering a blended B.A/M.A program once I transferred to university.
My passion for learning has led me to working with students through tutoring and teaching! Whether it be on a one-on-one basis, through small groups, or whole class sections, sharing the joy of learning is my passion.
I understand that navigating education can be daunting, and at times, discouraging. Through tutoring I hope to help you internalize that you are more than just a student expected to create output to secure a grade; you are person endeavoring to expand their knowledge!

My pedagogical values center the building of academic confidence! Within the tutoring space, we are collaborators, learning together how to navigate academia whilst feeling supported and prepared to take on the tasks at hand.
In our first session, we will identify what areas of growth we would like to focus on and set up milestones in order to see how we are progressing!
I am here to support at any point in the writing process, from outlining, to research, to revisions and feedback.
I specialize in the humanities and social sciences, with my background hailing from political science and ethnic studies, but I'm more than happy to support with any of your reading/writing based needs!
