About Oras
I love helping students build confidence in mathematics and engineering by making complex topics clear and manageable. With a PhD in Engineering from NCL University and 20 years of teaching experience in the UK and abroad, I’ve worked with students at all levels—from school to university—and in a variety of engineering subjects, including maths, electrical technology, electrical principles, electronics, and communication skills for engineers. I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, using practical examples and step-by-step guidance, so they feel supported and capable. My goal is to make learning engaging and effective, helping students not just understand the material but also gain confidence in applying it. Lessons can be in person or online, at a pace that works for each student.

My approach to tutoring mathematics is student-centred and focused on building understanding and confidence. I adapt my teaching to each student’s level, using clear explanations, step-by-step methods, and guided practice to develop strong problem-solving skills. Lessons are flexible in length to suit the student’s needs and schedule, and include review, new content, and practice questions. I have experience tutoring mathematics and supporting students of different abilities, focusing on clear communication and steady progress. My lessons are suitable for all levels at school, college, and university, and can be conducted in person or online.
