About Hope
My name is Hope! A former student at Notre Dame High School, I am a post-graduate student at the University of Glasgow for my third degree so far. I scored numerous A's (and one B) in high school for my higher and advanced highers, with my specialities being in History. A total nerd in high school, I was a member of the cryptic crossword club and president of the school's charity club. I even worked as a student librarian! I chose to pursue my love for the subject at university, with a joint honours degree in Archaeology and History at Glasgow, for which I received a 2:1. This was followed by an MSc degree at Edinburgh in another archaeological subject. My dissertations focused on skeletal remains in medieval contexts, combining my passion for history with my curiosity for archaeology. I'm choosing to explore tutoring as a way to gain experience for my CV, as my academics are one of my strongest skills, compared to a lack of coordination that I fear would make me a poor waitress.
Working in the west end of Glasgow, aiming to host tutoring sessions in public settings like the local libraries.

In terms of tutoring, the methodologies will vary based on individual issues with the material. For example, for general confusion on a topic, we can sit and review the material, exploring different approaches for trying to understand the concepts in a way that works for you. If you're struggling with essays, I am happy as well to review them with you, going over potential problems and ways to improve the work. This also applies to previously graded assessments, in which we can work together to better understand what needs to be worked on. Lessons can be flexible regarding time to fit both our schedules. My lessons will be aimed at National 5 and Higher Students, though I can also assist undergraduates. My overall goal is to not only improve your grades and understanding of the material, but to share my genuine love and passion for the topic.
