About Susana
My name is Susana Mulkey. I am 59 years old and was born and raised in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. I taught English at a grade school for five years before moving to the United States in 1996, where I got married. I raised two daughters and one stepdaughter: Amanda (33), Elisa (27), and Alexis (22). We also have three dogs who are very much part of the family. Family is the most important part of my life. I have been married for 30 years, and I believe family is the foundation of everything. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. It is both my vocation and my passion. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and culture with those who appreciate the Spanish language. I have been teaching for 25 years and am currently a high school Spanish teacher at St. Pius X High School in Festus, Missouri. Now that my girls are grown and living on their own, I have more time and flexibility—and I’m excited to use that time to continue teaching Spanish online. Topic: Daily Routines with Reflexive Verbs
Objective: Students will describe their daily routine using reflexive verbs in the present tense.
Vocabulary/Grammar:
Me levanto, me ducho, me cepillo los dientes, etc.
Time: 60 minutes
Materials: Video clip of a morning routine, worksheet, Google Slides and games.
Structure:
Warm-up (5 min):
Write your morning routine in 3 English sentences.
Presentation (15 min):
Teach reflexive verb structure (me, te, se…) + examples.
Video (5 min):
Watch clip “Mi rutina diaria” and answer comprehension Qs.
Guided Practice (15 min):
Match verbs to pictures, conjugate 5 reflexive verbs together.
Pair Practice (10 min):
Students interview each other: “¿A qué hora te levantas?”
Exit Ticket (5 min):
Write 4 sentences about your own routine using at least 3 reflexive verbs.
