About Elisa
My name is Elisa, I'm 24 years old and I've drawn my whole life. I'm passionate about sharing with friends everything we think about drawing and images in general, including moving ones. Studying at the Royal Drawing School, I've been taught how to pick and choose from any form of experience (a conversation with a friend, a book, an absurd idea, a story, a film, a song etc) to create my images. I enjoy being experimental and I work with any mediums, often mixing them together. Being from Rome, Italy has shaped my approach to education. I value art history and I think it's not taught enough in school. Knowing about artists, even contemporary ones, can help us being more playful. I think that gathering ideas here and there, like a magpie, it's what makes us become wiser visual communicators. I also enjoy so much spending time with children and working together at a drawing or a story. I take very seriously their ideas and facilitate them.

About the lesson

My lessons last two hours minimum and we will work with a range of materials (watercolours, pencils, acrylic). My focus is on figurative drawing and painting and the way we can create images with a narrative. I will bring references from art history and contemporary artists, including experimental comic makers. Having studied at RDS and taught life drawing with a model at RCA's life drawing society, I have extensive experience with facilitating first approaches to still life and portraiture. I also have worked a lot with children, so if you want to encourage your child to pursue their drawing passion I'm available for it. At the same time, I can help preparing portfolios for applications to art unis. My classes are for everyone, but especially for people aged 6-17.
