I adapt my approach to teaching and learning depending, not only on the student's age, but on what their ability is. My aim is to elicit confidence in the subject and the student and to help them achieve the best grade of their ability. I believe this comes from instilling confidence into the student and letting them take control of their learning, with my help. This would look like them choosing the topic they want to study for that lesson, so they get good at identifying their own knowledge gaps.
