About Parnella
I believe everyone can learn any instrument they put their mind and heart to. Music is a form of art, which means it is an expression of the emotion of the heart. This means that piano, guitar or singing are tools one can use to express their God-given emotions. Growing up in a church with parents who ministered everywhere, I got to participate in collectively expressing a deep love for my God. Later in college, I realized I loved helping people learn another way to worship as well. Sometimes people who naturally can sing or have musical inclinations don’t use their God-given talents to worship because they don’t feel like they’re doing it right or don’t know what sounds good. Or maybe they may feel like there are already so many talented people out there, why mess up the mix? “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord…” If your dream is to perform on stage or simply sing better in your car, I’d be honored to help lay a simple but practical foundation for your musical journey.

Understanding that each person has their own learning style, I strive to teach with understanding and application as the main goals rather than just knowledge of music notes.
My goal is to give every beginner a basic understanding of music so as to lay a foundation for musical interests other than the current pursuit. If someone wants to learn piano now, but may have interests in learning the guitar down the road to play for a group, I can teach concepts that give foundation for both instruments.
