About Renee
I have 30+ years experience in graphic design and photography including in-house art departments and freelance clients throughout the US from corporate to small businesses. Clients have included health care, travel and recreation, zoos, animal rescues, consultants, and individual creators. I have a degree in graphic design, and during my college years, I traveled abroad participating in a work-study program in New Zealand, as well as an extended college study in Vichy, France. I have written, photographed, and published a book on Animal-Assisted Therapy. I also worked with a team to design a coffee table book for a large resort documenting their work rescuing dolphins during Hurricane Katrina as well as overseeing the book’s production in China. I currently work as a freelance designer, assist rescues photographing adoptable dogs looking for forever homes, and manage a community garden in an urban setting.

Design school can offer techniques and skills, but many times cannot offer solutions to real world situations that experience can provide: such as working with clients, providing deliverables, educating the client, helping the client understand the process, answering questions, and collecting payment. While every situation is unique, I can offer basic advice in these areas to help students in their journey to navigate the process of creating from concept to completion with typical variables that can happen in the process.
