About Lian
Hi! My name is Lian. I’m a professional composer and music producer working across theatre, short films, installations, and pop giving one-to-one lessons online and in London.
I've written music for short films that have been screened at various film festivals around the world, including an Oscar-qualifying film festival. For one of the films, I won an award for Best Original Score (alongside my team of co-writers). I have written music for plays that have premiered at different Fringe festivals in London.
One of my songs, sung by girl group BINI, was sent to the moon in 2024 as part of the Lunar Codex. My work has been heard at the BBC TV Centre, the Outernet, Camden People’s Theatre, and the Frameless Gallery in London.
I also have a Master of Composition (Distinction) in Electronic and Produced Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
What you can learn in our lessons:
- Arranging for songs and instrumental scores
- Songwriting feedback and mentoring
- Teaching you how to use Ableton Live or Logic Pro X
- Mix feedback
- Recording techniques for instrumental recording
- Mentoring (e.g. how do you get over creative blocks that stop people from finishing the music they want to make).
Wherever you are in your journey, I'd love to help you create and finish songs and get better in your production journey.

We'll begin by figuring out your goals. Then, we'll create a plan to get you moving towards them. You'll get both technical coaching (focused on technique) and personal coaching (to master your mental game). For example, if you have writer's block, we'll go through techniques and strategies to help you tackle that. I aim to make you feel empowered and inspired after your lessons, leaving you more confident than before.

Lian created the wonderful soundtrack to my graduate film in 2024. She did an incredible job of brining my vision to life, and the music she provided brought the whole project up a level. I’ve had multiple people comment on the wonderful instrumentals after watching the film.
Working with Lian was a really easy and enjoyable process, she’s super friendly, and was able to turn my lack of musical knowledge into a really beautiful piece of work.I would wholeheartedly recommend her to everyone.Lian is an incredible producer and all around musician! I worked with her to compose a score for my short film, and she did a wonderful job managing the team and creating great songs. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!
I can’t recommend Lian highly enough as a music technology and music production teacher. She has an MA in Electronic and Produced Music from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also a fantastic communicator who makes learning feel clear and enjoyable. She’s a talented producer in her own right and brings a friendly, supportive, and genuinely encouraging presence to everything she teaches.
