About Fiona
My interest in guitar began from listening to live bands and experimenting with songwriting during my teenage years. I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music before earning a PhD in Guitar Performance and Music Practice. During the last 13 years, I have guided students toward stronger musical confidence through supportive teaching and practical learning methods.
I believe every learner improves differently, so I adapt lessons based on personality, confidence level, and musical goals. Some students respond well to technical repetition and structured exercises, while others improve faster through improvisation and creative exploration. My teaching style focuses on patience, encouragement, and balanced musical development.
Outside teaching, I enjoy recording instrumental arrangements, studying modern guitar styles, and composing acoustic music. Staying active in music helps me introduce fresh inspiration into lessons. Teaching guitar is meaningful to me because I enjoy helping students express creativity and confidence through music.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students build technical confidence while enjoying the creative side of music learning. I teach chord progressions, rhythm control, fingerstyle techniques, scales, improvisation, timing, and melody development through practical exercises that make learning smooth and enjoyable. Lessons are supportive, structured, and focused on helping students improve steadily.
Beginners strengthen their foundations through rhythm exercises, guided chord practice, and simple songs that gradually improve coordination and musical understanding. Intermediate learners develop stronger finger control, timing accuracy, and improvisation ability through technical drills and structured repertoire activities. Advanced students focus on expressive solo playing, advanced techniques, and polished musical interpretation through detailed performance preparation.
I encourage students to explore music freely instead of worrying about perfection during the learning process. Lessons support creativity, confidence, and independent musical growth while helping learners improve comfortably. My goal is to help students become expressive, relaxed, and confident guitar players.
