About Samantha
Since finishing my BM in Music Performance at Belmont University, I have spent 9 years helping 338 students find their own voice. You might be surprised to learn that I did not start with formal theory. My education was rooted in the Blue Ridge tradition of learning tunes by ear at local gatherings.
I teach guitar by balancing that oral tradition with the technical requirements of reading sheet music. You can expect a focus on clean strumming patterns and smooth fingerpicking.
We examine electric technique and rhythm guitar to ensure your hands remain agile. It is truly rewarding to see a student finally connect with a song they have always admired. Helping people find joy in their practice sessions is the best part of my day.

I confess that I find teaching rhythm far more effective when we minimize the reliance on textbooks. Music is a language meant for the ears, not just for the eyes.
I bring the same focus on tradition that I studied at Belmont University to every guitar lesson. We work on your fingerpicking and electric technique in a way that feels organic.
9 years of playing have shown me that your hands learn fastest when they are moving. We keep the pace steady so you can absorb the mechanics without feeling rushed. Every student has a unique sound waiting to be polished.
