About Cora
I began studying guitar at a young age, which inspired me to pursue a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and an M.Mus in Contemporary Guitar Studies. Over 9 years of teaching, I have worked with students of all levels, focusing on technical development, creative exploration, and performance skills. My teaching philosophy prioritizes individualized instruction, patience, and encouragement, ensuring each learner feels supported while challenged to reach their full potential.
Lessons include technical exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, and performance preparation. I encourage students to develop their own musical voice, explore phrasing, and gain confidence in solo and ensemble contexts. This approach fosters both skill and artistry, helping learners express themselves effectively through music.
Outside teaching, I perform, collaborate with other musicians, and explore multiple musical genres. Bringing these experiences into lessons provides students with practical insight and inspiration. Watching learners progress from hesitant players to confident, expressive musicians is deeply fulfilling. My mission is to cultivate technically skilled, creatively expressive, and confident guitarists who enjoy music for life.

Guitar lessons succeed when students combine technical proficiency with expressive creativity and performance readiness. I teach chord formation, scales, fingerstyle technique, improvisation, strumming patterns, tone shaping, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation. Beginners focus on hand and finger positioning, basic chords, simple strumming, and foundational repertoire to build technical control. Intermediate learners refine fingerstyle technique, improvisation, expressive phrasing, chord embellishments, and genre exploration. Advanced students concentrate on soloing, composition, ensemble collaboration, stylistic nuance, and performance preparation. Each session incorporates detailed feedback, reflective exercises, and performance simulation to ensure consistent skill development.
Guitar lessons also build musical confidence, creativity, and expressive range. Students learn to convey emotion through their instrument, perform with assurance, and explore diverse musical styles. Many learners enjoy performing, improvising, and collaborating with other musicians.
