About Lily
Playing guitar started for me in the raw atmosphere of Melbourne open-mic nights, where I learned to keep an audience engaged. I am entirely self-taught, which allows me to skip the dry academic fluff and get straight to the mechanics that actually matter on stage.
My 13 years in the scene have taught me how to balance electric technique with the grit of blues progressions. I incorporate music theory into our sessions without making it feel like a chore, focusing on strumming patterns that define your sound.
My lessons blend improvisation and soloing with practical acoustic technique to ensure you feel capable behind the fretboard. Teaching 326 students has shaped how I explain complex ideas simply. It is a joy to see a student finally grab a rhythm that has been eluding them. I genuinely value the shared connection that happens when we work through a tough progression together.

A sharp click of a metronome signals the start of our focus on rhythm and timing. I gauge your progress by listening to how you handle phrasing during our warm-up segments. My teaching style is direct, drawing from 13 years of gigging experience to ensure you are ready for real performances. We spend time on electric and acoustic techniques that keep your hands moving comfortably across the neck.
I believe that music should be a conversation between the player and the instrument. Working through specific songs helps us apply music theory in a way that feels relevant to your goals.
