About Me My name is Kevin, and I am a dedicated and approachable guitar tutor with a strong passion for music and teaching. I specialize in beginner electric and acoustic guitar, focusing on building confidence, enjoyment, and real playing ability from the very first lesson. I believe learning music should feel encouraging, achievable, and rewarding. My teaching style is patient and supportive, and I adapt each lesson to suit the individual student’s pace and goals. I aim to help students start playing songs early on, as this keeps learning engaging while developing essential skills such as rhythm, coordination, and technique. I have over a year of experience teaching guitar and several years of personal playing experience. I am an active musician and regularly perform in a structured group setting, which has strengthened my understanding of timing, teamwork, and musical discipline. I also have practical experience with guitar setup, tuning, and basic gear knowledge, allowing me to guide students beyond just playing notes. My lessons are well-structured, clear, and suitable for school-aged students, teenagers, and adult beginners. My approach to teaching guitar is simple, practical, and enjoyable. I believe students learn best when they are playing music they recognize and enjoy, so I aim to teach songs right from the first lesson. This helps build confidence, motivation, and a genuine interest in learning. Teaching Techniques & Methodology I focus on hands-on learning, with minimal theory at the beginning Lessons start with basic chords, strumming patterns, or simple riffs I break songs down into easy, manageable steps I adjust the pace to suit each student’s learning style I encourage repetition, practice tips, and good playing habits Typical Lesson Length Lessons are typically 30–45 minutes, depending on the student’s age and level Qualifications & Experience I have around one year of experience teaching guitar I play both electric and acoustic guitar I am an active musician and regularly play at my local church I have years of personal playing experience and practical knowledge of guitar setup and tuning Who the Lessons Are For Beginners with little or no experience Students of school age through to adults Anyone wanting to learn electric or acoustic guitar Ideal for students who want to learn songs quickly in a relaxed environment My goal is to make learning guitar fun, stress-free, and rewarding, while helping students build a strong foundation they can continue to grow from.
