About James
I've been playing guitar for 9 years, have studied at The Sage Gateshead, Gateshead College & BIMM Manchester. I have received high grades in modules relating to teaching as part of my degree and really enjoy helping people get excited about music. I am currently part of a premium Rock & Roll function band. I lead and write for my own Folk Rock trio along with playing mandolin in a Jazz rock outfit. An experimental project I was part of was featured on BBC Manchester. My guitar style is very versatile and I can teach in most styles however my specialities are folk, rock & funk. In my spare time I play board games and listen to as much new music as I can possibly get my hands on.

I love to approach the guitar from a different angle with all of my students. I use alternative methods such as open tunings to help beginner and intermediate students approach the guitar more creatively. This helps them feel good about how they sound and become inspired to play more. The more you play the better you get.

All travel is included in the fee, cancellation before a week to the lesson is free however within a week I will have to ask for £5 as a cancellation fee.
