Knowledge and experience with Trinity, Rockschool and Australian Music Examination Board, levels 1 – 8. This time also included teaching in Sydney Australia, and London in schools and working with private students of ages four years – sixty years plus. also taught at

Dagenham and Barking Music Service (11/2006 – 02/2008): Taught high school aged students Trinity grades, site reading and creative performance with very pleasing results.

Laugh n Learn (06/2009 – 09/2011): Taught creative performance, sight reading and AMEB grades 1-8.

Belmore Boys’ High School (08/2011 – 09/2012): I taught English Australian NSW Syllabus to students from years 7 – 12. My responsibilities was to oversee the completion of course work and delivering course content to the student. Belmore is a school of about 500 students who are not strongly academic, but treat school life with sufficient respect.

London Supply Teaching (04/2011 – 07/2011): During this time I taught Media at Westminster Academy, Media and English at Horsey School for Girls. My responsibilities were to revise coursework, organise and deliver the curriculum and to motivate my students in an effective positive way.

Randwick Girls’ High School (02/2011 to 04/2011): Continues from 12/2010

Mayfield School (01/2011 to 02/2011): Subject taught: Media and English years 10 – 12. My experience at this school saw the application of my skills as a teacher. The position marked a high point and consolidated areas such as student teacher rapport, motivation of the student and of the attainment of targets. Working with the head teacher was harmonious and productive.

Randwick Girls High School (09/2010 to 11/2010): Subject level taught: English, years 8 – 12. Randwick Girls’ High School is a comprehensive girls’ school that produces excellent results with HSC (A levels UK equivalent). Students are of mixed socioeconomic backgrounds with the majority respectful of their teachers and fellow students. Therefore, there are few behavioral issues and the ambience of the school is warm and friendly. My experience as a teacher at this school was very positive regarding both the staff and the students.

Whitmore High School (10/2009 to 07/2010): Subject level taught: English, years 8 – 11, General humanities years 8 – 11. Whitmore High School is a high achieving school located in Harrow with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. My experience was such that I refined my teaching practice, classroom management and knowledge of the UK curriculum.

Northolt High School (02/2010 to 04/2010): Subject level taught: English years 7 – 12, Media year 10. Many teachers within the teaching ranks consider Northolt a very challenging school. Despite this, I was able to make a strong impression and build excellent rapport with the students and in the short time I was there. This was a maternity cover.

Randwick Girls’ High School (08/2009 to 10/2009): Subject level taught: English, years 8 – 12.

01/2009 to 03/2009 Killarney Heights High School, Sydney Australia

Student Teacher of English and Media Studies

Subject level taught: English and Media Studies, years 8 – 11. Killarney Heights High School is a comprehensive co-educational institution with an excellent academic record. The school resides within an affluent suburb and the students are of Anglo-Saxon, Asian, Pacific Islander and Middle Eastern origin. Behaviour is regulated through a warning process, followed by detentions, talks with heads of department, and finally suspension. The school possesses an excellent library, which accommodates for students with special learning needs.

09/2006 – 05/2007 Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, London, UK

Learning Support Assistant in Special Education Needs

My experience at CVMS included note taking, leading small tutorial groups and assisting five students in year 7. I helped teachers in all subjects to make the curriculum accessible to the students I was responsible for. CVMS is a boys’ Catholic school and is one of the top academic schools in London. The school has a strict traditional approach to discipline and as it has an excellent reputation in the community, it is very conservative and conscious of maintaining such an image. CVMS has an excellent Special Education Needs Department, with its own resources, book storeroom, computers and staff.

During my time at CVMS, I was involved in running a homework support group on three afternoons.

OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

10/2009 – 07/2010

Teacher at various London Primary Schools

Throughout London I taught years K – 6. The time I spent teaching these years was especially rewarding in the way the children respond to humor and the wonderful enthusiasm they are privy to.

05/2007 – 02/2008

Teaching Assistant through Hays Education and Axcis Education

During this time I was able to consolidate my experience as a Learning Support assistant in different contexts and circumstances. This included working at John Chilton High School in West London and The Sybil Elgar School for autistic young adults.

Supporting Statement: Teaching drums is something that I not only have an exceeding affinity for, but also have a genuine ability. which is also backed by as many as two hundred plus parents and students who can attest to the same.
