About Thomas
I am a dedicated 8th grade English Language Arts and English Language Development teacher with over 13 years of classroom experience. Originally from El Salvador and fluent in Spanish and German, I bring a multicultural perspective to my teaching that supports students from diverse backgrounds. I specialize in language development, academic writing, and reading comprehension, using proven frameworks like the SIOP Model, WIDA standards, and the workshop model to meet the needs of all learners—especially multilingual and CLD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) students. Before transitioning to education, I worked in the corporate sector with Merrill Lynch, giving me a strong foundation in communication, professionalism, and goal-oriented learning. I am passionate about helping students grow not only as readers and writers, but as confident, critical thinkers ready to navigate both academic and real-world challenges. My approach is structured, supportive, and student-centered—focused on building lasting skills and a love for learning.
