About Olivia
I am a student at Leeds who simply loves Jazz piano, and I’ve always had an interest in teaching, specifically music. I want to inspire confidence in my students as learning instruments can be difficult, however fun, and it’s important to have both.

In my lessons depending on the level of the student, I will be teaching the basics of music theory such and key signatures, music notation, tonality and harmony. Scales are very important in learning piano especially jazz, so I would make that a key part of my lessons. There are many Jazz musicians that have had a key impact in the development of Jazz that we hear today, so I feel introducing my students to this and a range of bebop, blues, cool jazz etc is essential. For pieces I would teach standards from grade books such as ABRSM or The Real Book so the student can become an all rounded jazz pianist.
