About Joe
I am an aspiring classical piano composer from Leeds. I have been writing music for my whole life, but over the last seven years I've taken it far more seriously and am trying to build up a large body of pieces. I'm pleased with the progression of my composing, and was recently played on the BBC for the first time as a solo artist.
I have had several students over my life, but I would like to increase this now as I am looking to focus all my energy on music and so have left my previous day job. The type of teaching I would like to do would be focused primarily on learning techniques to have fun on the piano by writing your own music.

As a composer of classical piano music I would like to pass on my experience to those who wish to learn how to write music for themselves. I don't regard myself as being a pure 'improviser', or as being anti-music theory, theory is of course important to compositional techniques and is an aspect I enjoy, but I like to apply it to writing music rather than reciting pieces of other composers. Over the past ten years I have taught several students, but I would like to increase this now. I am flexible regarding lesson length and location, I can do them from home or travel around the Leeds area. I can teach any age, and think that my lessons would be appropriate from beginner to intermediate level.
