About Jonny
I am a highly experienced Head of PE and PE teacher with 16 years of experience across a range of educational settings. I began my teaching career in Kent, where I taught for four years, before becoming Head of PE at a school in East London, a role I held for seven years. I have recently returned from the Cayman Islands, where I served as Head of PE at a private school.
I have extensive knowledge of both GCSE PE and A Level PE, with a strong track record of helping students achieve outstanding examination results. My teaching is exam-focused, student-centred, and designed to build confidence, knowledge retrieval, and high-quality written responses.
I hold QTS, a BA Hons in Physical Education Secondary Education, a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership, a Master’s degree in Leadership in Education, and Level 7 Coaching and Mentoring.

My lessons are tailored to support self-directed and reflective learning, helping students take ownership of their progress and understand how they learn best. I place a strong emphasis on metacognition, including how to retrieve, organise, and apply knowledge effectively. Students are taught how to annotate questions, identify command words, structure responses, and answer higher-order exam questions with confidence and precision.
