I have taught in universities and schools in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Bulgaria. I have taught adults and children. I like to make fun lessons that suit your interests and use as much real life English as possible.
When I teach students to prepare for exams I help them understand what the question wants them to do, how they can best show their skills, and encourage them to build on their existing skills and interests. I encourage students to self study and believe in being honest with students and help them to have realistic expectations. I create lessons focussed on the needs of the student.
Hey! My name's Michael and I was born in Plymouth in the United Kingdom. I'm passionate about all aspects of language, but most of all: helping others learn. English was my favourite language in school and now I'm thrilled to be able to share what I know with people all other the world.
By focusing mainly on the weakest areas of your knowledge through a combination of discussion and practice we will build them up to be your best. The use of practice questions is underrated in a lot of schools but what they tend to miss mostly is the following discussion on the process of answering those questions.
I base my classes on my students needs, every student is different and will need to be challenged and supported in different ways. I think it is importable to be knowledgeable about your subject, but also take time getting to know my students and make learning fun for them.
I like to tailor the content to the student. I like to use different techniques and provide support with audiovisual resources.
I like to base my classes on conversation, always alternating with exercises and activities, because I think it's how you learn a foreign language.
I am a fun, patient and approachable individual and know various techniques to complete work to a high standard, having done it all myself. I can cater for all levels up to university level and can form lessons around your needs and requests. Just send me an email or a text message.
My lesson structure is entirely based on how the student wishes to learn and what their requirements are - everyone is different. From analysing small chunks of text, to long documents or even helping to construct paragraphs and essay plans, I am flexible to the needs of the student.
All of my lesson observations show that I 'teach to the top'. I give all students the A* lesson quality they deserve, for any students that need a bit of support I am prepared to enable them to reach the upper grades with fully differentiated work. I have taught SEN and students on the spectrum. I take personal pride in ensuring my lessons are fit for purpose.
Personally I believe the teaching method depends on the student I'm working with. Different people learn in different ways and thus being adaptable to each person's individual needs is key. Technique and Pattern are the core aspects of understanding maths at this level and so would be the starting point of teaching.
The two teaching methods I use are the lecture and communication techniques. The lecture method, I would tell, explain, describe or relate whatever information the tutee requires to learn through listening and understanding. It is therefore teacher-centred.
I like to teach mathematics through a problem-based approach, allowing students to tackle questions and then encourage them to pose questions, and offering scaffolded support to enable deep learning and understanding. Dialogue and discussion are the most effective forms of learning and I incorporate these into my teaching.
I was a previous member of the Peer Assisted Learning Scheme. My teaching method is majorly aimed at my individual students as that is the whole point in the lessons. My teaching style cannot be defined as one style as I easily adapt to an individuals needs.
I have taught practical courses and lectures in Biology and Chemistry for more than 4 years. For me teaching does not only involve sharing my knowledge, but also motivating and inspiring others and I am experienced in working with a wide range of students (age range of 17-23) and adapt my teaching style accordingly.
I will teach you any concepts or ideas that you don't understand, as well as reading over any essays you've written. On top of that I will give you techniques to use at home when revising as well as my own essays and notes for reference- which are marked by teachers who are examiners.
I usually will start by identifying your weak areas, and then working from them onto topics you are more confident with. I understand the importance of doing work on the topics one does not understand- despite the urge not to, and I'll try and make it as enjoyable as possible by finding techniques that are effective.
I tutor A level and BTEC students, those applying and preparing for drama school and university auditions, degree and masters level students and professional actors. As an acting coach I believe it is important to create a nurturing and supportive and environment to allow students to grow in confidence.
My teaching method is based on all my past paperwork: a combination of American diploma, GCSE’s, SABIS international curriculum, and UK (University of Birmingham+ University of the West of England) foundation work. Can provide maths, economics, and English lessons. I Approach subjects using the student’s preffered methods, whilst analysing points that require deeper focus.
I cater for individual learning styles, incorporating games, puzzles and extensive use of ICT to help engage students with their learning. I like to use real-life problems and scenarios to help children and young people develop a deeper understanding of their subject. As much as possible, I like the learning to be fun and enjoyable.
I plan all lessons very thoroughly and use a variety of teaching methods that best suit the learner. I like to be creative and find new and stimulating ways for my students to learn and to retain information.
I am a university student and I primarily gear my content towards high school students and above, however I can modify it for younger students. I typically prepare PowerPoints to teach with while speaking to you about it, and I have assignments and assessments for you afterwards to solidify the knowledge. I go at the pace of the student and make sure they understand the content before moving on.
I can teach from entry level for students that have never held a camera, up to Level 3, the equivalent of A Level or Foundation Diploma. I often work with a social teaching style, letting the students lead the direction of the class whilst acting as a facilitator for the needs of the individuals in the groups.
Whenever I begin teaching students I try to use their preferred learning styles (more practical based, listening based, or writing based). I am confident in giving lessons up to GCSE level by using these methods. I plan each lesson ahead of time and hone onto whatever the student needs to help them to progress through their studies.
I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor who enjoys teaching one-on-one lessons for a variety of levels and subjects.

I am 21 years old and have recently been awarded a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with second class honours (upper divison) from Plymouth University. I feel the only way to effectively learn anything is to be able to complete understand it first, and I believe that I am excellent at explaining difficult to understand concepts in ways that are made complicated in textbooks and online sources.
