About Julia
I’m a qualified Science teacher, Head of Science and Deputy Head, with an MSc in Neuroscience and examiner experience. I like learning to feel productive but relaxed, with plenty of room for humour. Building a good relationship is really important to me - students learn best when they feel comfortable, understood and actually enjoy the time we spend working together!

I offer expert, personalised tuition from KS2 through to A level, college and university level, including Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Psychology and related science modules or courses (applied, access to HE, BTEC)
I also support students with EPQs, essays, coursework, academic writing, revision, exam technique, study skills, university applications and general learning organisation.
My approach is calm, encouraging and highly individual. I focus on understanding where a student is getting stuck, explaining things in a way that makes sense to them, and helping them turn that understanding into stronger confidence, better independent study and improved grades.
I can support students who are aiming for top grades, filling gaps in their knowledge, preparing for exams, struggling with motivation or organisation, or simply needing a different approach to make the subject click.
Sessions can also include mentoring around revision planning, essay structure, time management, independent learning and managing the demands of school, college or university
