About Francesca
I am the Head of Sixth Form in a school in South West London, the Sixth Form opened in 2014 and I have led the UCAS programme, I have successfully had 17 students take up a place at Oxbridge in this time. I have help facilitate hundreds of personal statements and interview practice. I am also an experience Sociology teacher. I have an MA in the Sociology of Education from UCL, my PGCE in teaching training is from Bristol University, and my Undergraduate degree in Applied Social Science is from Southampton University. I have also led the Extended Project Qualificaiton in 2016-17, I coordinated 17 students and 14 got A*-B

My teaching is to A Level students and those preparing for University. My methodology focuses on Metacognition, enabling students to benefit from identifying their own learning style and focussing on 'up leveling' their work so they understand what the examiner wants to see. I work on model answers and scaffolding responses so the student can take ownership of key skills, for example, analysis, application and evaluation. For personal statements I focus on helping students understand what tutors are looking for in terms of an academic profile.
