About Claire
I am currently studying Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning at Imperial College London and hold a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science. With over five years of tutoring experience, I have helped students at GCSE, A-Level, and undergraduate level build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. I specialise in GCSE Mathematics, French, and Science, as well as GCSE, A-Level, and undergraduate Biology.

Whilst I have a genuine passion for learning and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with others, I recognise that the traditional examination system does not suit every student. High-pressure exams and rigid mark schemes can often make academic success feel more challenging than it needs to be. Having experienced this myself at times, I understand the importance of building confidence alongside subject knowledge. My tutoring approach focuses on developing a deep understanding of the material rather than simply memorising facts for an exam. I believe that when students truly understand a subject and begin to enjoy it, academic success naturally follows. Alongside improving subject knowledge, I help students develop effective exam techniques and strategies to maximise their performance. My lessons typically last one hour in which I initially try to gauge a student's understanding of a topic, and then through the use of videos, presentations and activities, try to increase that knowledge and understanding.

I know Claire through a mutual friend who studied at Trinity. My younger cousin required a biology tutor, and she offered her assistance. She helped him navigate a very challenging advanced curriculum.
Claire’s teaching approach emphasised depth of understanding, unlike many tutors who are simply teaching with the goal of maximising their students’ test performance. I should also mention that my cousin has ADHD and autism, and Claire treated him with extreme care and patience, adapting her teaching approach wherever needed
I would recommend her as a tutor to everyone with no hesitationWhat I appreciate most about Claire is that she gets straight to the point and if the traditional explanation isn’t landing, she will shift her angle completely to break the concept down in a new way. She also has a brilliant grasp of intersectionality within her subjects like how a tiny molecular process connects to a massive ecosystem. She doesn't view topics in isolation; she shows you how different concepts connect, overlap, and influence one another, which gave me a much much deeper and holistic understanding of the material.
Honestly, Claire is just super sharp and immediately adapts to how you learn, and makes biology feel so simple. If you want a tutor who actually makes Biology make sense, you should definitely book a lesson with her! She’s the best!I know Claire from Trinity, where we studied in the same faculty. What stood out most about her as a tutor is her patience, as she never rushes an explanation and always makes sure you’ve genuinely understood a concept before moving on. She’s also very attentive to detail, catching small mistakes or gaps in understanding that other tutors might gloss over.
I recommended Claire to a family member, and over the course of a year, they’ve turned around their grades across maths, biology, and chemistry. What really makes her stand out is her willingness to try different teaching approaches rather than sticking to one method; when something wasn’t clicking, she’d adapt and find another way to explain it until it did.
I’d happily recommend her to any student looking for a patient, adaptable, and genuinely attentive tutor.View more recommendations
