I will find out level of understanding and work through areas of the syllabus using various resources, quizzes, past papers etc. and if online can use PowerPoints/slides, worksheets, online resources, offer immediate constructive feedback and involve highly interactive sessions, giving you plenty of opportunities to 'put into practice'. Nearer exams (or major tests), more focus is on past papers, how examiners require typical answers based on mark schemes.
A revision schedule can be put into place to cover everything before the exam, but making such content is thoroughly understood/foundations covered before moving on (e.g. atomic structure, nomenclature/writing formulae/balancing equations, moles calculations, bonding, redox). After a while fundamental principles/connections are established, helping to explain the various areas (physical, inorganic, organic etc.) in chemistry/science, such as trends in the periodic table, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, equilibria, rates, reaction mechanisms and yields, isomers, macromolecules and biological molecules, spectroscopy and so on (depending on the syllabus requirements/level). At A Level (or beyond), the role of the p and d orbitals in organic and (transition metal) inorganic chemistry, respectively, are particularly important to understand.
For the practical side of things, we can work on common areas such as planning an experiment, presenting results, drawing conclusions from graphs/calculations, error analysis, volumetric analysis, identification of ions/chemical tests, determination unknown formulae, etc.
Typical sessions mimimum 1 hr (ideally more; t.b.a.) and can cover KS3 sciences, GCSE, and A Level chemistry.
