About Nilay

I come from an engineering background, having studied a Bachelors in Automotive Engineering before changing fields and studying a Masters in Biomedical Engineering. I have achieved 1st class honours in both my degrees, so you can feel assured knowing that I have a comprehensive understanding of Maths and Science.

I have also gained experience mentoring/tutoring across a diverse range of environments. I started as a reading mentor in school. I then went on to support classes during the registration period, as well as volunteer at a Saturday club for the disabled run by the charity Menphys. I finally went on to support first years with their studies at my university as a tutor.

I always struggled in school, I know it's not easy, I had tutoring myself when I was doing my A-levels! So let me help you and together we can succeed.

About the lesson

There is no one method that fits all, we all have different styles of learning. Some people are visual learners, some can absorb a lot just by listening, others need to practically apply themselves. Working that out is the first step!

In our first lesson together, we will spend time working out what type of learner you are, where you are at, and what your expectations are. From there we will create an action plan, tailored to your specific needs. I promise each lesson will be fun, engaging and stress free, because that is the best way to learn.
