About Maliyah
My name is Maliyah Griffin. I am 16 years old, and I attend the number one public high school in my city. I have been studying Mandarin since my freshman year. I am also a student at a local ballet academy, and I play academic games from time to time. Additionally, I am the eldest of three children and have a green-cheeked conure named Clover.
I aspire to be a cardiothoracic surgeon and expose myself to the field of medicine whenever possible. I have shadowed doctors, and I spent a summer studying molecular and cellular biology, as well as physics, at Harvard University. My PSAT scores put me in the 96th percentile, earning me an award of national recognition, and I have consistently been on the honor roll. I understand that it can be hard to grasp some subjects, and I am here to help.

I strive to be a tutor who makes complex topics accessible to everyone. I understand that each student has a unique learning style; therefore, I do not rely on a single rigid method. Instead, I personalize my lessons to address the specific needs and goals of each individual.
Typically, I begin each session with a brief assessment to identify where we should focus our efforts. I then structure the lesson to reinforce weaker areas using techniques best suited to the student, whether that involves flashcards or practice. I am highly attentive and flexible; if a particular approach proves ineffective, I am quick to pivot and try a new strategy. If we are focusing on a foreign topic, I will explain a billion times in a billion different ways if need be. Finally, I conclude each lesson with a short follow-up quiz to monitor progress and ensure consistent improvement. My lessons are designed to be supportive and adaptive, welcoming students of all levels who are eager to reach their full potential.
